Household Work

The traditional Bhutanese way of life and manner of running a household is going through rapid change with the arrival of modern facilities such as motor road, electricity and television. The daily routine of a traditional Bhutanese started at dawn and continued until late evening and included religious devotion, social calls, farm work, home management and cultural practices. The men mostly worked outdoors and the women maintained the home. The architecture of Bhutanese houses indicate the use of household space and daily activities.
