Monastic Dance

The classification of monastic and courtier dance was perhaps made after some dances which were performed by the lay priests were introduced in the state festivals, which had its schedule of mask dances. The monastic dances are those sacred cham dances performed by the celibate monks of the State Monk Body in th past. These dances are mostly in costumes of silk brocade.
