Consecration

Rabney is generally a ritual conducted to consecrate religious objects such as statues, stupas and temples in order to invest them with the presense of divine forces. Such events of consecration are later reenacted and celebrated as festival. Many Bhutanese festivals are called rabney although there is no active consecration ceremony is conducted.
