Supplication

Traditional Bhutanese say a lot of prayers for their psychological wellbeing and to reach enlightenment in the future. Most people would use a book called thun pe, similar to the Christian Book of Hours, which contains the common prayers. Most of the prayers in such a book would be supplications to the Buddhas, deities and masters to help one have good health, intelligence, freedom etc. to practice the Buddhist teachings and follow the path to enlightenement and eventually to be able to help all other sentient beings. Prayers of supplication to the Buddhas form a very common method of Bhutanese Buddhist contemplation and practice.
