Textbook

Textbooks (yig cha) as a literary genre refer to specific types of commentaries meant to either give concise summaries of specific texts in the curriculum of study, or else prepare students for debates about them. There are two types: generic overviews (spyi don) and definitive analyses (mtha’ spyod).
