Outdoor Game

There are many traditional outdoor game which traditional Bhutanese played, mainly during public holidays. Archery is the national game and is still the most popular outdoor game. Other team outdoor games include doegor, in which people throw stone disks at a target, khur or dart, soksom or bamboo spears and bjidum or pointed branches. There are also many outdoor games which are played individually either alone or in crowds. Many games are shared by the Bhutanese communities but some games are only known locally. Today, other forms of games and sports which originate from outside are spreading across Bhutan and some tradition outdoor games are declining.
