Spiritual Poetry
Beside the folk poetic compositions of lozey ballads, tsangmo poems, songs, proverbs, etc. Bhutan has a tradition of writing poems, particularly among the educated elites. These poems are often composed by religious figures and thus have a spiritual or religious content. A great deal of the poems contain praises to religious divinities and personalities or accounts of religious experiences.
