Musical Instrument Carpentry

With the abundance of forests the environment, wood is used in making musical instruments. One of the most popular folk musical instrument is a lute called dranyen. Dranyen is made from a piece of wood which is carved out to give its hollow body and the curved neck with the head of a dragon at its tip. Similarly, wood is also used to make fiddles and dulcimer. Among monastic musical intruments, wood is also used to make many kinds of drums including ritual drums, handheld drums and procession drums. Wood is also used for making trumpets and oboes.
