Bamboo Household Tool

Bamboo and cane are used for making a wide range of household items in a traditional Bhutanese farm house. Among the artefacts, most common are alcohol containers for alcohol called palang and plates called bangchung. There is a wide variety of these utensils and special ones are produced with coloured bamboo. Many containers for cereals, fruits and vegetables are also made from bamboo and cane, as are jugs, buckets and bottles for water, milk and alcohol. Boxes for coins and jewellery are also made from bamboo and cane and travel cases were also traditionally made of bamboo and cane although today this is very rare. Arrows and quivers are also made from bamboo and cane.
