Redemption and Confession
The kongshag ritual is a religious ceremony of making offerings to the gods and tutelary deities and particularly to the female divinities and ḍākinis. It is an event to confess one's failures and mistakes to the deities and make prostrations and supplication to be in their favour by making amends. In some villages, this is observed as an annual event and in others it is observed once in three years. The ceremony may last for days and also be accompanied with cham dances and other religious activities.
