Dra-nyen Chozhey
Dra-nyen Chozhey is a song and dance composed by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal during his retreat in Cheri. He is said to have sung this hymn to a cuckoo. It is performed with a lute and the dancers wear old monastic costumes, which indicate that the dance was performed by monks initially. Like most other Zhey, the lyrics of Dra-nyen Chozhey dwell with religious topics and is performed only during formal public and official occasions and not during all festive events.
