Hymn

Hymns are sung at certain occasions in Bhutan. During festivals, there are hymns sung in some of the dance-dramas. The travelling bards called maṇiwas who carry a portable shrine called tashigomang would often sing hymns at gatherings and festivals. During funerals, priests sing hymns to pray for the deceased. There is also a popular culture in Nyingma tradition in Bhutan to sing hymns while making a tantric tshog offering.
