Pontine cranial nerve nuclei

Cranial nerves trigeminal (V), abducens (VI), VII (facial), and VIII (vestibulocochlear) originate from nuclei in the pons. These nuclei include the vestibulocochlear nuclei (VIII), salivary nuclei (inferior salivatory nucleus - IX, superior salivatory nucleus - VII), facial nerve nucleus (VII), abducens nucleus (VI), motor nucleus of the trigeminal nerve (V), and chief or pontine nucleus of the trigeminal nerve sensory nucleus (V).
