Account of a Mobile Temple or Stupa

Bhutanese in the past used portable miniature temples called Tashi Gomang, which literally translates as the Auspicious Myriad Doors. The miniature temples have several door and windows out of which statues appear when propelled to be gradually opened through a smart technology. The maniwa bards accompany these mobile temples and chant mani in beautiful tunes. The accounts of the origin of these monuments, of how they are made and used and the culture of carrying this from place to place during public festivities, are told to highlight their spiritual importance and sacredness.
